Jackson Boelts
Jackson Boelts has been an educator, creative director and designer for over 25 years, and is President and Chief Creative Director of Boelts/Stratford Associates, Inc. Jackson has been designer/creative director/ illustrator on over 300 business and organization identities and advertising campaigns, winning numerous international, national and regional awards for his work.Jackson's strengths lie in the visual realm. He is an accomplished illustrator and painter and has led his firm to be one of the leading destination design firms in the country. The Tucson Advertising Club has recognized Jackson's work over the years with numerous top awards including 2003 Advertising Professional of the Year. He was recently nominated for a National Design Award from the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum - the highest honor given in the United States for design.
As a full Professor at the University of Arizona, Jackson's love and mastery of teaching is made evident by his network of thousands of accomplished graduates across the world. His students have gone on to hold coveted positions with companies such as Nike, Landor, Bozell/NYC, Cartoon Network, Disney, Industrial Light and Magic and Sports Illustrated, to name a few. He has been the backbone of the Visual Communications area in the School of Art and has been instrumental in elevating it in the national design community.
Jackson brings the same integrity, honesty and ethics to the business that he teaches in his classes. Through his business over the past 16 years Jackson has contributed his talents, pro bono, to many organizations. These include identity work, collateral and advertising for the following: Community Food Bank, SAAF, The Fox Theatre, The Humane Society, Arizona Arthritis Center, CASA, Travelers Aid, Compass Healthcare, Orts Theatre of Dance, Fathers Day Council, CODAC Behavioral Health, United Way, among others. His business was named the Inaugural Copper Cactus Award for "Best Place to Work" and also for "Community Service" for the work the business gives back to Tucson.
Anyone who knows Jackson knows that his personality and sense of humor is a big factor in his success. He is a witty and intelligent individual who is committed to his family (wife Alison, and children; Mary, Ian and Kelsey). He can be found coaching little league and he loves to watercolor.
When Jackson was recently nominated for a University-wide teaching award, it's not surprising that the letters of support from his students and past employees came flooding in. All attributing their start in their careers and their work ethic to Jackson.
